SAOTA has designed a family holiday home on the banks of the Buffels River, in the coastal village of Pringle Bay, South Africa. Called Restio River House, the waterfront abode of 300m² (2,680ft²) was completed in 2015.
Perched on the banks of the Buffels River in Pringle Bay, this house has an easy-living permanence that shakes off the salty winds and lets in the sun and the natural beauty of the surrounding indigenous vegetation. The architecture is clean and robust and has a gravitas about it. This family holiday home is nuanced and sophisticated, built to fully grasp the daily rituals of holiday living.
