334 Sumatrastraat is an old townhouse renovation, completed by Bláha Architecture + Design in 2017. Located in the Sumatrastraat, The Hague, The Netherlands, the four-story house measures 330m² (3,552ft²).
The building consists of four floors. The ground floor currently functions as a garage and workshop. However, the design allows this space to easily be transformed into additional living space. To allow for more light to enter the ground floor, a patio has been created behind the garage. In addition to providing added natural light, this also allows for access and outlook to an outdoor space.
The three upper floors function as living spaces and have all been extended by two meters to create additional space. In addition to these extensions, two dormer windows have been placed in the top floor front facade. This has transformed a dark attic into a spacious floor with an abundance of natural light.
