Upper West Side Waterfront Apartment

Situated on the waterfront of Riverside Boulevard in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, USA, this 2000 square-foot (185 square-meter) apartment was redesigned by Chango & Co in 2012. Thanks to Susana, creative director of Chango & Co, and her team, the waterfront apartment turned into a beautiful and just perfect home for family living.

Located on the waterfront of Riverside Boulevard in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, this newly built 2,000 square foot shell lacked all the charm of an older building. The family which was to inhabit it, however, were charming enough to make up for the blank canvas. So on we set off to bring a bit of each of them into their new home. Easy to work with to the extreme, their only requests were storage and a color palate suggested by the children for each their rooms. The storage request was answered in the form of 60 linear feet of floor to ceiling custom built ins which help house toys, televisions and other equipment. The children’s’ rooms are an homage to childhood and lightness of spirit, which we strive to keep with us at all times. The result of combining all these elements was a home which is easy to slip into at the end of the day, thoughtfully designed around the normal wear and tear of a young family, and just plain fun to play in.
