Schema Architecture & Engineering has designed a single-family residence, called The Wedge House. Located on a steep site in Drafi, Pendeli, Greece, the 360-sqm (3,875-sqft) house was completed in 2017.
The concept takes advantage of the steep incline of the site, entering at a higher level from the ground. A wedge, which forms the entrance and the vertical circulation, connects the two distinct volumes of the main spaces. The façade completely opens up to the view of the pine trees. The slope of the roof allows natural light to enter the house.
