Designed by Tormen Architekten AG, House Bern is a sculptural building with breathtaking views. Located in Canton Bern, Switzerland, the project, completed 2019, measures 1,679m² (18,073ft²).
The alignment of the parcel with a northern slope direction captures the wonderful panoramic view of the entire Jura mountain range. The three storeys are harmoniously integrated into the existing topography. The residential area deliberately faces away from the entrance. This creates a retreat against the parcels interior. This retreat houses the covered lounge area with direct access to the infinity pool that is made from bared concrete. The ground floor and first floor are intended for private rooms. Also attached to the ground floor, the spacious living area with panoramic floor to ceiling high windows, which face the west and evening sun. This area is divided by the stairs into a living area and a dining area with kitchen. On the lower floor there are besides the basement also the office, entrance area and a garage for four vehicles.
