Designed by ODOS Architects, Alma Road is an inconspicuous brick house, that has no windows on its outer walls. Located in the grounds of a historic structure in Monkstown, in a Dublin’s suburb, Ireland, the house measures 220m² (2,368ft²).
Sited in grounds of an old coach house and courtyard, this brick clad-dwelling is perforated by a series of courtyard spaces at both levels, drawing light into the interior while also creating a flowing relationship between inside and outside spaces. The bedrooms are located on the ground floor, opening out onto the privacy of the lower zen courtyard, while the first floor living spaces are connected through a series of courtyards and sun terraces.
