Orange Grove House is a 1970’s home renovated by FRED Architecture, originally Fiona Winzar Architects, in 2010. Built on a 180-sqm (1,938-sqft) site in Melbourne, the three-level house has a total floor area of 250m² (2,691ft²).
The experience in this home is like living in a tree-house. Facing onto the adjacent park, the first floor living level and deck features a double height space and spectacular views over gums and the park.
In a positive move to densify city suburbs, this project involves a subdivision with a new house. The small footprint over three levels allows for a generous family home including a vegetable garden and water storage. The north facing aspect and a 6 star energy rating will ensure a sustainable future for its inhabitants and the city.
