Designed inside an existing shell, this interior of an existing, award-winning Greek chalet was created by Natalia Kokosalaki in 2017. Located 15 minutes from Greece’s largest ski resort on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, the three-floor chalet measures 150m² (1,615ft²).
Our design intent was to create a stylish, contemporary space with a warm atmosphere, with respect to the existing shell, but with a delicate adaption to the exceptional environment. We experimented with a combination of natural materials–such as rustic wood–with finishes and textures more commonly used in industrial design–such as the perforated corten steel. Other little design details were the use of thin wooden louvres as design elements in the bathroom furniture, as were the three dimensional mosaic tiles. The lighting and furniture was also part of our design proposal.
